Every once and a while, there might be a time where it’s too difficult to bring your gas trailer directly to the piece of equipment or vehicle that needs to be refueled. This situation is easy to overcome though thanks to fuel hose reels. These are installed on our Pro 110 Industrial and Pro 110 Industrial FTS gas trailer models.
Fuel Hose Reels Explained
A fuel hose reel is a piece of equipment that features, as the name implies, a fuel hose, reel, and frame with roller guides. It looks like two circular disks connected together by a metal rod. The fuel hose actually wraps around the metal rod for easy storage (as shown here). Some fuel hose reels can have a retractable spring system so you don’t have to spend time reeling in the hose after you’re done using it. Gas Trailer reels are usually spring retractable.
Typically, a fuel hose reel is made from a strong, durable metal such as steel or formed aluminum, along with sturdy fittings, bolts, and other components. This construction results in fueling equipment that can handle the rigors of being utilized on a job site or in an industrial environment. For example, how often are tools dropped on a job site? Or, how often do things get bumped and babged around when working on a project? These things are common occurrences and that’s why quality materials must be used in the construction of fuel hose reels so that they can handle it.
Why They’re Useful
The obvious explanation for why fuel hose reels are useful, as touched on above, is because of how they allow you to discharge fuel longer distances. This is very, very helpful in different situations where you might not have the ability to bring your fuel trailer right next to what you’re fueling. For example, maybe your ATV ran out of fuel in a ditch off-road and you don’t want to bring your gas trailer down into that ditch or your boat needs to be topped off and you don’t want to pull the trailer onto the dock. Well, all you have to do is extend the extra length of the fuel hose, turn on the pump, and get refueling.
Or, maybe you just want to leave your mobile gas trailer in one place and one place only, much like a small gas station, instead of moving it around every time you want to use it. Now, this is easy to do with any of our gas trailers really. However, if you purchase one with a fuel hose reel, it can be much more convenient. Reason being is that you don’t have to bring what you need refueled right next to gas trailer itself since the longer fuel hose gives you extra length to work with.
Different Options on Different Gas Trailers
There are currently two different fuel hose reels installed on our gas trailer models:
- 25′ Fuel Hose Reel: This is installed on the Pro 110 Industrial model. It’s 25 feet in length, 3/4″ diameter hose, spring retractable, and is well-built featuring a sturdy steel housing with roller guides.
- 50′ Fuel Hose Reel: This is installed on the Pro 110 Industrial FTS model. It’s 50 feet in length, 1″ diameter hose, spring retractable, and is well-built featuring a sturdy steel housing and roller guides.
In addition to the two fuel hose reels, we also have a new reel upgrade that is offered on the Pro 110 Industrial FTS model. That option is the 75′ fuel hose reel option that gives you the ability to refuel machinery, and other equipment up to 75 feet away. Plus, it also includes a 100′ grounding cable reel to make the static discharge connection easy to reach.
At the end of the day, fuel hose reels simply make refueling easier and to learn about the two models that have this feature, visit the Pro 110 Industrial or Pro 110 Industrial FTS product pages. Each are great options for using in commercial, industrial, or personal environments.
