Safety comes first with the gas trailer models we produce. That’s why when we started designing the prototypes of our products, we did so by following the safety standards of the Department of Transportation. We wanted our customers to have peace of mind when they used our mobile gas trailers for their fueling needs. After countless hours of research, design modifications, and simple trial and error, we’ve come up with an industry leading product that uses tanks manufactured under a Special Permit issued by the DOT.
What does it mean to have a Special Permit from the DOT?
Most fuel transfer tanks or fuel tanks used on inferior built fuel trailers are not designed for refueling flammable fuels, but instead only to transport non-flammable liquids or diesel. The refueling tanks used with our gas trailer fuel trailers are designed and DOT approved for transport and refueling while the refueling tank is still attached to the transporting vehicle. Also, the fuel tanks themselves are DOT approved for flammable liquids such as gasoline, avgas, and kerosene while still being able to be used with non-flammables and diesel. Operators should not transport flammable liquids without planning and careful consideration. From a safety standpoint though, you can have confidence that our models are built with only the correct and safest components for your job.
Why is it important?
The Special Permit from the DOT is important for two reasons. The first is that when you need to refuel your equipment, you can do so without having to remove the refuelable tank from the vehicle that it’s attached to. This saves you both time and energy. The second reason is that because our fuel tanks are DOT approved for flammable liquids such as gasoline, avgas, and kerosene while still being able to be used with non-flammables and diesel. Operators can have piece of mind that they’re compliant with the appropriate rules and regulations when using one to transport fuel – unlike other fuel tanks that don’t have this DOT approval.
Other registrations and certifications
In addition to the Special Permit that our fuel tanks have been issued by the DOT, we also have a Patent Pending for our portable fuel trailer design. We feel it is important to apply for a patent to set our product line apart from anything else out there. Plus, we’ve protected our Diamond Plate Surface Pattern on a fuel tank on a trailer too.
Built in the USA
Gas Trailer is proud to say that our operation is stationed in the United States, specifically the Green Bay, Wisconsin area. Our belief is that the highest quality, safest products are built in the United States, which is why we make every effort to partner with other operations also located in the United States. All of the major components that are used in the fabrication of fuel tank trailers mainly come from our partners located not only in Wisconsin, but Kansas, Illinois, and Florida.
